New SAIT offices in Trento

The plan for the new SAIT offices in Trento, prepared by Tecnopolis of Bologna, includes two different blocks, the first a storage area and the second entirely dedicated to the office area.
The Granitech Division was involved in this second part, with a layout consisting of two arches of the same radius set one across from the other, but staggered longitudinally along the direction of the chord they share.
One of the two arches rises four levels up, while the other has one more floor; finally, the two areas are crossed by a wedge-shaped volume with a variable triangular section.

Inside, the building is designed to host 150 workstations as well as meeting rooms, waiting areas, reception areas, conference halls and display halls.
What is unusual about the project from the technical point of view is the specific form of the layout, requiring connection of an element which is by nature straight, the fine porcelain stoneware tiles produced by GranitiFiandre applied to Granitech raised floor technology, to a design consisting of two staggered arches of a circle.

The materials chosen by the client for this project precisely for their ability to add to the value of the elements described above are Pietra di Bedonia by GranitiFiandre, with a semi-polished finish, in the 120x60 and 60x60 sizes and PorcelainGres Ardesia Sandstain with a Natural finish in the 120x60, 120x30 and 60x60 cm sizes, applied to Granitech raised floor units measuring 120x60, 120x30 and 60x60 cm.

Following careful study of the various problems involved in the project, a solution was reached incorporating:
- in the areas with staggered arches, insertion of panels of trapezoidal shape (see detail A) aligned with the axes of the metal pillars of the building's vertical structure, flanking panels measuring 60x60 cm;
- in the central part of the wedge-shaped volume, along the longitudinal axis, a floor with panels measuring 120x60 cm alternating with panels measuring 120x30 cm (see layout of ground floor).
